Join the SKAL Initiative

Does your company want to help shape the tech talents of the future?

About the project

Opening doors to Tech – One classroom at a time

OpenTech, in collaboration with the City of Lund, has launched a new initiative to inspire more young people – especially girls – to explore the opportunities within technology and STEM.

We’re now looking for tech companies in Lund to join the SKAL model (Systematic Collaboration between Schools and Working Life). The aim is to offer students in grades 2-5 meaningful, age-appropriate insights into working life and to spark interest in the tech industry.

What’s expected of a SKAL company?
To create an inspiring and relevant collaboration, we’re looking for companies that:

  • Have a broad range of professional roles within the organization
  • Appoint an internal contact person
  • Participate in three activities per grade level each year
  • Take part in joint reflection and evaluation sessions with the school
Why get involved?

This is a chance to show students the exciting and inspiring world of tech in Lund, and to give them a concrete picture of what a future in a field full of innovation, opportunity, and societal impact can look like.
It’s also a unique opportunity to build relationships with the next generation of talent, promote gender-balanced recruitment, and increase young people’s understanding of your industry.
