This year, we are celebrating 15 years as an organisation together with you – our members and community. A lot has happened during those fifteen years.

Our experience, combined with your valuable input, has prepared us for an important transformation.

Our legacy and recent developments

We started in 2009 as a non-profit initiative with roots in Skåne’s telecom industry, with the initial aim of attracting talent and increasing R&D funding to our region. Since then, the scope of our work and the range of organisations that have joined our community has increased significantly.

Today, we represent more than 120 member organisations (including businesses, the public sector, educational institutions, and civil society), all working with tech in Skåne.

In addition to the expertise and legacy we enjoy from the telecom and radio communications industry, Skåne’s tech community is rich with exciting developments in other technology areas – such as IoT, embedded systems, image processing, artificial intelligence, and cyber security.

We are proud to have played an active role in supporting the growth of tech in Skåne for 15 years and our goal is to continue making tech thrive, in southern Sweden and beyond.

To ensure this, we have continuously engaged in discussions with you – our community and members – about our role in Skåne’s changing tech landscape and what you want and need from an organisation like ours.

A new identity driven by your needs

Through surveys, focus groups, and workshops, you – our community – have been loud and clear: as a member organisation, we need an updated identity and position to better reflect our member base and redefined role in Skåne’s tech landscape. We have been working diligently behind the scenes during the past year to make that a reality and are finally ready to announce the news to the world: Mobile Heights is now OpenTech!

The change is much more than just a new identity though; it also reflects where we are as an organisation today, our updated strategic focus, new activities and opportunities aligned with the needs of our community, and an indication of where we are headed in the future. It also reflects how we approach tech – with openness and inclusion that allows us to truly open doors to and through our large network.

Our new email addresses follow the format firstname.lastname@opentech.se, but you can also find each person’s email address listed via the button below.

Make sure that you add our new general email address: info@opentech.se to your contacts, and mark it as safe and trusted.

As an additional measure, you might also want to ‘whitelist’ our new email address (or ask your IT department to help you do so).

This will ensure that you continue receiving event invitations, newsletters, and opportunities sent via email. They are of little use in your spam box!
